Harriet Goldman Caldwell received a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, Hartford, CT. Her work has since been shown in numerous group and one person exhibitions that include: Artspace, Raleigh, North Carolina; Nathan D. Rosen Museum Gallery, Boca Raton, Florida; SOHO 20, NYC: Louisiana State University: University of Massachusetts Medical Center Gallery; Worcester, MA; The College of Staten Island/CUNY, NY; Florida State University; Tallahassee, FL; Lite Rail Gallery, Sacramento, CA; John Slade Ely House, and Artspace Gallery New Haven; Charter Oak Cultural Center, Hartford; Slater Memorial Museum, Norwich; William Benton Museum of Art, Storrs, University of Hartford, Gallery 53, Meriden; and Stamford Museum among others. Exhibits at The Connecticut Commission on the Arts is scheduled for January - March 1997, and the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art, Grand Rapids, Michigan in January/February 1997. Caldwell was a Millay Resident Fellow in 1994 and a recipient of the 1995-96 Connecticut Commission on the Arts Artist Fellowship for painting.

Caldwell teaches painting and drawing at the Farmington Valley Arts Center in Avon, Hartford Art School, and is a part-time lecturer in studio arts at Northwestern Connecticut Community/Technical College. Her current work addresses issues of prejudice and is exploring the experiences of children of the Holocaust and their struggle for survival.
