This seems like a good idea for a site. But the listings are, for the most part, years old. Or am I missing something?
Is there a place on the site where there are new listings for shows, calls for entries, etc?
Thanks/ |

Hi, most of the info is user submitted. The Calendar has the most user submitted events. There are a number or institutions/ venues that submit to the Calendar regularly. This forum is a good place to submit new listings for shows, calls for entries, also, as the Forum topic also gets link from the home page.
Stories/New items can be submitted through the online form. Stories/News may be posted as a front page News item or converted to a forum post, when previewed by an editor.

Thanks for the answer. But even the entries in the calendar are, mostly, two years old.
Is there a way to advertise the site, to link to it from other Connecticut arts sites, to spread the word in a way that would draw more users? It's such a shame to see this potentially great idea just going to waste out here.
I see the "recommend" button - but honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, at this point, to anyone.
So, beyond that, is there something I - we, users - can do to promote the site? Maybe we can get a discussion going? But the times I've been on the site, I've been the only user, or one of two or three -
A conundrum.

Hmm interesting since I just created an account with the site. I did hear it's a good way to advertise onesself. As for postings on shows - they seem to be getting updated more and more. I do agree people need to start recommending it to others so the site grows and artists everywhere can unite!

This site does seem like a good idea. I'm glad someone thought of it!
I recently came back home (Hartford) to check out some family and see what was going on as far as the art/music scene and to my dismay, there wasn't too much.. Hopefully this site can connect a group of people who want to make something happen in the Hartford area! |

I've been thinking about this site and the fact that there's almost no new information on it. And it seems that instead of questioning it, and waiting for someone to fix it, I can work to make it better. So I've posted a couple things, and will continue to post them. I guess the long and the short of it is that I've realized that if I want it to work, I have to be committed enough to make it work.
That was a "duh" moment for me.

So I just tried entering into the calendar an upcoming show of mine, and after filling out the rather complex form and previewing it, I hit "submit" and was told that I am not allowed to access this function.
This is really frustrating. Can anyone help me, please?
Thanks, Carrie |

Sorry. We have regular multiple submissions by venues like the XL Center & Fairfield Theater. We are not aware of any submission problems.
If anyone has a problem submitting Please email what actions were taken, the exact error and when. The email like is on the Home page at the bottom of the right column.
