Immortal It was funny how we came up with this beat. Everything I played didn't fit. I was messing around with triplets one day and our guitarist at the time said, "Hey, play that. It sounds great." I would have never thought it would be come a beat. Anyway, it's a lot of fun breaking up the triplets using the bass drum. Occasionally I play this on the toms with the bass on 1, 2, 3, 4, and my hands can go anywhere, that's a lot of fun, too. So, either way, I hope you enjoy it. -John With John setting up the whole song using triplets while accenting heavily on the straight ahead four feel this song's rhythm is impossible not to groove to. I remember the first time I played this with the strange I fell right into the pocket and decided to stay. I start it off real laid back with some harmonic action and slide comfortably into the main line of the tune. The breaks are a good chance to get vocal on the bass and when we hit the double time, my fingers love to start running. Play with feeling... -Chris |
First off; we want to say thanks to every one for buying the new tape and
supporting us. Remember, each song is a perspective; each song tells a tale of
truth & justice, or the lack thereof... The song truth & justice is a ballad for all us
broken hearts, but listen with hope!
