Surfing With jamie

by Chris Phillips
Shoes off, mouse pad situated, fire up that modem and away we go! A number of original bands are getting on the internet these days. Last issue (winter '95, p.3) we introduced you to the jamie strange web site home page, in this issue we hang ten with one of the better known local bands, BUD COLLINS. Find out about this highly original band's humble beginnings, snag a piece of sound (if you have the memory and the time) and decide where you'll see the band next. Here is one page that doesn't annoy the hell out of you with thousands of links or run you ragged with dead ends. The Bud page is informative, fun, and visually pleasing. Click it out!

At the Shows with Angela & Chris
This issue we checked out Young Neal and the vipers at the Hungry Tiger in Manchester. Chris... I've been going to see Neal for years now, he's God. Angela... The touch of six strings and all hearts started to moan.
Shake, baby, shake to the sound of the groan- Of a guitar Howling, Badda bip-blue BLAM! Young Neal, the Tiger, & the boys in the band. The audience just fell in a full-on Blues trance and occasionally some-one would break into dance; So full of pent-up LUST, proving one night with this band is an undeniable MUST Young Neal, the Vipers, they rock, 'tis true... From the tips of their fingers to their snake-skin shoes. So go catch a show, if grunge has got you low 'cause with that venom there for the taking,
YOU GOTTA CATCH A SHOW!

Neal and the boys can be seen at: Arch St. Tavern, Hartford, March 10... BigEasy, Portland, ME, March 14... The Call, Providence, RI, March 15... Mannys Car Wash, NYC, March 16... Keepyour eyes open, the boys come around often and every show is a high energy rockin' experience...
