What you are now viewing is a very special edition of strange TIMES. This s the companion issue to the new CD, Full Moon Fade. If you have the CD and this issue of the TIMES, you should be feeling a little more balanced. If you don't have the CD, go get one! It could save your life. The CD features seven new strange songs, recorded at Studio .45 with Mike and Dave. They really made these songs come to life. The cover art is designed by Phillip Fortune of Fortune Works. Phillip has declined our offer to be the band mascot, since he's a little pressed for time. That's too bad, since the gerbil suit is just his size... Thank you to all who helped make Full Moon Fade happen. As I look through the submissions for this issue of the TIMES, I notice that a lot of it is dedicated to our recent sojourn to Toronto. The NXNE Festival can safely be called one of the high points in the history of jamie strange. We are not just a band anymore, we are a family. Sure, there are four members of the band that actually pick up the instruments and make music, but there are so many more people that actually make up the strange family. That is what this issue is really about. Family. Finally, I would like to mention one more Toronto-related subject. Fellow local original bands The Neybas and The Shells were also chosen to go to NXNE but due to a mix-up between the Advocate and the NXNE Music Festival, only one band was allowed to go. What was intended to be supportive of all three bands actually caused tension all around. I would like to officially express my regret for the absence of these two great bands and hope that resolution comes swiftly. |
