strange TIMES

Spring/Summer edition #2 July 1. 1995 p#2

Weather

by Peter Papadopoulos

It was just recently winter and now it's Sumner. Just like last year, spring and fall have been stopped. One may remember from their youth... spring, summer, fall, winter. Now it' s simply winter, summer, winter, summer. In other Strange news...

You'll be happy to hear that Angela and I are taking a break from our other performance venues to focus entirely on the band which means more shows, new songs, old songs being learned, and a blue light special on aisle three. There is now a third jamie strange song being used on stage but if you want to see the production you'll have to go to Portland, Oregon. Oh, and best of all... we've moved into a new, top, secret, rehearsal space so we finally have a place to practice. Thelonious Monk to a musician who performed what he had rehearsed the night before, "I pay you to practice on stage!" Well, for a while that was our motto but we gladly give it up.

Losing Touch

by Chris Phillips

I still hear people asking the eternal question, "What is the meaning of life?" and all I can say is that we don't have a clue. The farther away from original creation, the big bang, whatever you want to call it, the harder it got to hear and understand what our purpose was. We kept getting more and more diluted, our minds coming up with egocentric ways of interpreting reality, standing in judgment of all and deeming ourselves superior. A big mistake on our part. Losing touch. The answer lies within us, within every part of us. It is old, very old, and is directly linked to the origin of life. The answer is there, it's our interpretation of reality that's the problem. We just don't listen, we've forgotten how.
